Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to observe and identify different water life creatures and understand their habitats.

Materials and Prep

Materials:

  • Clear container or fish tank
  • Water
  • Net or small container for catching creatures
  • Identification book or online resource

Prep:

  • Fill the container with water from a pond, lake, or stream
  • Find a good spot near water to observe and catch creatures

Activities

1. Water Life Exploration:
Go to a nearby water source and observe the creatures living in and around it. Try to catch some using a net or container for closer observation.

2. Creature Identification:
Use your identification book or online resource to identify the creatures you caught. Note down their names and any interesting facts about them.

3. Habitat Study:
Observe the habitat where you found the creatures. Note the water quality, plants, and other animals present. Try to understand why these creatures live there.
