Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to analyze differences in human wellbeing and suggest ways to improve human wellbeing in different regions around the world.

Materials and Prep

  • Pen and paper

Activities

  • Research Wellbeing Indices: Use the internet to research different wellbeing indices, such as the Human Development Index (HDI) and the World Happiness Report. Take notes on what factors are considered in these indices.
  • Compare Countries: Pick two countries from different continents and compare their wellbeing indices. Discuss why there might be differences and similarities in their rankings.
  • Design a Wellbeing Plan: Create a wellbeing improvement plan for a fictional country that is ranked low on the wellbeing index. Include steps on how to improve education, healthcare, and overall quality of life.
