Materials and Prep

  • Reading passages about bracelets
  • Writing materials (paper, pencil)
  • Internet access (optional)

Activities

  1. Read and Analyze

Provide the student with a selection of reading passages about bracelets. Encourage them to read the passages carefully and underline or highlight any interesting or important information. After reading, discuss the main ideas, key details, and any new vocabulary words. Ask the student to identify the author's purpose and point of view.

  2. Writing Response

Ask the student to choose one of the reading passages and write a short response. The response should include a summary of the passage, personal thoughts or connections, and any questions or further research they may have. Encourage the student to use evidence from the text to support their ideas.

  3. Bracelet Creation

Using the information learned from the reading passages, have the student design and create their own bracelet. They can use various materials such as beads, strings, or even recycled materials. Encourage them to think about the symbolism or meaning behind their bracelet design and explain it.
