By the end of this lesson, Grayson will be able to understand and practice conflict resolution skills.

Materials and Prep

Materials: None

Prep: Familiarize yourself with simple conflict resolution techniques

Activities

  • Role-playing: Act out simple scenarios with Grayson where conflicts arise, and guide him on how to resolve them peacefully.

  • Draw and Talk: Have Grayson draw a picture of a conflict situation and then ask him to explain how he would solve it.

  • Feelings Chart: Create a chart with different facial expressions representing various emotions. Discuss each emotion and how to handle it in a conflict.

  • "When we have a problem with a friend, it's important to talk about how we feel."

  • "We can use kind words like 'I feel sad' or 'I don't like that' to express our feelings."

  • "Listening to our friend's feelings is also important. We can say 'I hear you' or 'I understand'."

  • "If we can't agree, we can ask for help from a grown-up to find a solution together."
