Objective

By the end of this lesson, Elisabeth will be able to engage in storytelling activities around a campfire, enhancing her creativity and imagination.

Materials and Prep

  • Imagination
  • Willingness to have fun
  • A cozy spot for a pretend campfire

Activities

  • Campfire Circle: Create a circle on the floor and pretend it's a campfire. Sit around it with Elisabeth and take turns sharing short stories.
  • Story Stones: Collect some pebbles or rocks and draw simple pictures on them. Let Elisabeth pick a stone and create a story based on the picture.
  • Puppet Show: Use stuffed animals or handmade puppets to act out a story. Encourage Elisabeth to make up a tale and perform it for you.

Talking Points

  • Imagination is key: "Imagine you are a brave explorer in the jungle, what do you see?"
  • Creating characters: "Can you tell me about the main character of your story? What is their name and what do they like to do?"
  • Setting the scene: "Let's pretend we are in a magical forest. What kind of animals live there? What does the forest look like?"
  • Using descriptive words: "How can you describe the dragon in your story? Is it big or small? What color is it?"
  • Happy endings: "What do you think should happen at the end of your story? How can we make sure it ends happily?"
