Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will learn about historical figures portrayed in film and TV shows and understand their significance in history.

Materials and Prep

  • TV or computer to watch clips
  • Pen and paper for notes

No prior knowledge needed, just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!

Activities

  • Watch a short clip from a historical movie or TV show featuring a famous figure. Take notes on what you learn about the person.
  • Draw a picture of your favorite historical figure from film or TV and write a short description of why you find them interesting.
  • Act out a scene as if you were the historical figure. What would you say and do?

Talking Points

  • Quotation: "Let's watch a clip from a movie about Abraham Lincoln. He was a famous President of the United States who helped end slavery." - Introduce the figure and their significance.
