Materials and Prep

Activities
- Introduce the concept of geography by showing the student a world map or globe. Explain that geography is the study of the Earth's features, such as countries, continents, and oceans.
- Ask the student to draw a picture of their house or neighborhood on a blank paper. Encourage them to include any landmarks or natural features that are unique to their area.
- Using the internet or books, explore different countries and their cultures. Discuss how people in different parts of the world live differently and have different traditions.
- Guide the student to locate their country on the world map or globe. Help them understand that they are part of a larger world and that there are many other countries and cultures to learn about.
- Encourage the student to share their drawing and talk about where they are from. Ask them questions about their favorite things in their area and what makes it special.
