Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to improve your skating skills and have fun learning new tricks!

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Skates, helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, flat and smooth skating surface.

Prep: Make sure you have enough space to skate safely and check that all safety gear is worn correctly.

Activities

  • Skating Warm-Up: Start with a gentle warm-up by skating around in a circle to get comfortable on your skates.
  • Practice Balance: Try balancing on one foot while standing still, then while moving slowly.
  • Learn a New Trick: Pick a new trick to learn, like skating backwards or doing a 180-degree turn.
  • Obstacle Course: Set up a mini obstacle course with cones or objects to practice maneuvering around obstacles.
  • Cool Down and Stretch: Finish the lesson with a cool down by skating slowly and stretching your muscles.
