Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of the themes and characters in "Charlotte's Web" while engaging in various creative and educational activities.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, crayons/markers, a computer or tablet for research, a notebook, and a pen.

Prior to the lesson, the student should have read or listened to chapters 1-3 of "Charlotte's Web".

Activities

  • Create a Character Drawing: Have the student draw their favorite character from the book and write a short description of them.

  • Word Search: Create a word search puzzle using key terms from the book for the student to solve.

  • Spider Web Art: Using white paper and crayons, have the student create their own spider web design.

  • Research Farm Animals: Encourage the student to research different farm animals mentioned in the book and write a fun fact about each one.
