Materials and Prep
- Pencils of varying hardness (2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
- Drawing paper or sketchbook
- Eraser
- Reference images or objects for drawing practice
- Clear workspace with good lighting
Activities
Warm-up by practicing different shading techniques with the pencils provided. Experiment with hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and blending.
Select a simple object or image to draw. Focus on capturing the details and textures using the various pencil hardness levels.
Try your hand at creating a self-portrait or drawing a family member. Pay attention to proportions and shading to add depth to the portrait.
Create a still life composition using objects from around your home. Practice shading to show light and shadow on the objects.
