Objective

By the end of this lesson, Darius will be able to prepare a simple and delicious pasta dish from scratch.

Materials and Prep

Prior to the lesson, make sure Darius has basic knife skills and knowledge of stovetop cooking safety.

Activities

  • Pasta Prep: Teach Darius how to cook pasta al dente and drain it properly.
  • Sauce Making: Guide Darius in making a simple garlic and tomato sauce with olive oil.
  • Assembly: Show Darius how to combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, basil, and cheese.
