Activities
- Watch a Star Wars movie or a selection of scenes that involve the concept of government and citizenship. Encourage the student to take notes on any relevant scenes or dialogue.
- Discuss the examples of government and citizenship observed in the movie. Ask the student to share their notes and facilitate a conversation about the different forms of government, the role of citizens, and any similarities or differences to real-world systems.
- Assign a short written reflection where the student compares and contrasts the government and citizenship systems in Star Wars to those in their own country. Encourage them to think critically about the strengths and weaknesses of each system.
- (Optional) Research and present a brief report on a specific aspect of government or citizenship in Star Wars, such as the Jedi Council or the role of the Senate. This can be done individually or in groups.
