Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will create a colorful caterpillar using only paper and your imagination!

Materials and Prep

Materials needed:

  • Colorful construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Prep: Make sure to have a safe workspace to work on the project.

Activities

  • Cut and Paste: Cut out circles from different colored construction paper and paste them in a line to create the body of the caterpillar.
  • Decorate: Use markers or crayons to add eyes, a smile, and any other decorations to your caterpillar.
  • Name Your Caterpillar: Give your caterpillar a fun name and introduce it to your family and friends!

  • "Let's start by cutting out circles for our caterpillar's body. What color circles do you want to use?"
  • "Now, let's glue the circles in a line to create the caterpillar's body. Can you count how many circles we have?"
