Activities

  1. Warm-up Dance: Start by dancing freely to warm up your body and get into the groove. Let the music guide your movements.
  2. Follow-the-Leader Dance: Take turns being the leader and making up dance moves for the other person to follow. Get creative!
  3. Animal Dance: Dance like different animals - slither like a snake, hop like a frog, or flutter like a butterfly.

Talking Points

  • What is dance? Dance is a way to express yourself through movement. You can tell a story or show how you feel with dance steps.
  • Why do we warm up before dancing? Warming up helps our bodies get ready to move and prevents injuries. It's like stretching before running!
  • How can we be creative in dance? We can make up our own dance moves, use different levels (high, low, medium), and change our speed (fast, slow).
  • Why is it fun to dance like animals? Dancing like animals lets us pretend to be something else and have fun with different movements. It's like playing make-believe with our bodies!
