Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to express their creativity through art and music while learning about trains.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, crayons/markers, small bells or percussion instruments.

Prep: Set up a designated art area and a music area with the materials ready.

Activities

  • Train Drawing: Have the student draw their favorite type of train using crayons or markers. Encourage them to add colorful details and scenery.
  • Train Rhythm Band: Create a rhythm band using small bells or percussion instruments. Have the student make train sounds and rhythms while pretending to be a train.
  • Train Song: Help the student create a simple train-themed song using words like "choo-choo" and "all aboard". Sing the song together.
