Objective

By the end of this lesson, Jyemeka will have a better understanding of the process of creating music videos and writing songs, and will have created her own music video and written a song.

Materials and Prep

• Smartphone or camera for recording
• Access to a computer or tablet for editing
• Paper and pen for songwriting
• Access to favorite music videos for inspiration

No prior knowledge needed, just a passion for music and singing!

Activities

• Activity 1: Music Video Creation
  Jyemeka can choose her favorite song and create her own music video for it. She can plan out scenes, choreography, and outfits, and record herself performing.
• Activity 2: Songwriting Session
  Jyemeka can start by writing down her thoughts and feelings, and then turning them into lyrics. She can explore different song structures and melodies to create her own unique song.
• Activity 3: Rehearsal and Recording
  Once the song is written and the music video planned, Jyemeka can rehearse her performance and record the final versions of both the song and the video.
