Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will learn about gender diversity in gymnastics and have fun exploring different gymnastic moves.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Gymnastics mat or soft surface, comfortable clothing for movement.

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have enough space to move around safely.

Activities

  • Warm-up: Start with stretching exercises like reaching for the sky and touching your toes.
  • Stretching helps prevent injuries and gets your muscles ready for movement.

  • Gender Diversity Discussion: Talk about how boys and girls can both excel in gymnastics and that there are no limits based on gender.
  • Encourage the student to share their thoughts and feelings about gender diversity in sports.

  • Try Different Moves: Practice cartwheels, forward rolls, and handstands.
  • Experiment with different gymnastic moves and have fun while doing it!

  • Cool Down: Finish the lesson with some deep breathing exercises and gentle stretches.
  • Cooling down helps your body relax after physical activity.
