Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to read and comprehend a Minecraft-themed story, and answer questions about the story.
Materials and Prep
- A Minecraft-themed storybook
- Paper and pencil
Activities
- Introduce the Minecraft-themed storybook to the student, and discuss the cover and title.
- Read the story aloud to the student, or have the student read it independently.
- After reading the story, ask the student comprehension questions.
- Have the student write a short summary of the story.
Ask the student to make predictions about what they think the story might be about based on the cover and title.
Encourage the student to follow along with their finger as they read, and ask them to stop and ask questions if they don't understand any words or phrases.
Examples of questions to ask: What was the main problem in the story? How did the main character solve the problem? What lesson did you learn from the story?
Ask the student to write a few sentences summarizing the main events of the story. Encourage them to use descriptive words and proper sentence structure.
