Materials and Prep

  • Clear space for movement

Before starting the lesson, make sure your child is well-rested and engaged.

Activities

  • Color Hunt: Hide colorful objects around the room and ask your child to find and name the colors.
  • Coloring Time: Provide coloring sheets with different colors and encourage your child to color within the lines.
  • Color Sorting: Use color flashcards and ask your child to sort objects by color.

Talking Points

  • Red: "Look at this apple, it's red like a firetruck!"
  • Blue: "The sky is blue, just like your favorite toy car."
  • Yellow: "Bananas are yellow, they are so yummy!"
  • Green: "Grass is green, like the leaves on the trees."
  • Orange: "Oranges are orange, and so is the sun at sunset."
