Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will learn about babies, their needs, and how to take care of them.
Materials and Prep
- Stuffed animals or dolls to represent babies
- Blankets or small towels
- Plastic baby bottles
- Diapers (clean, unused)
- Optional: Baby clothes
No prior knowledge needed, just enthusiasm and curiosity!
Activities
- Role-play as a caregiver for a baby doll or stuffed animal. Feed it with a bottle, wrap it in a blanket, and pretend to change its diaper.
- Create a mini nursery for your baby doll. Arrange the blankets, bottles, and diapers neatly.
- Dress up your baby doll in different baby clothes. Talk about the different types of clothing babies wear.
Talking Points
- Babies need to be fed to grow big and strong. You can say, "Babies drink milk to grow just like you drink milk to grow."
- Babies need to be kept warm and cozy. You can say, "Babies like to be wrapped in blankets to feel safe and warm, just like you like your favorite blanket."
- Babies wear diapers because they can't use the potty like big kids. You can say, "Babies wear diapers because they are learning to use the potty, just like you did when you were a baby."
- Babies wear special clothes that are easy to put on and take off. You can say, "Babies wear clothes that are soft and easy to change because they grow so fast, just like you change your clothes every day."
