Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have learned about plants, zombies, and basic math concepts through the game Plants vs Zombies 2.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Device with Plants vs Zombies 2 game installed
Prep: Familiarize yourself with the game and its basic mechanics
Activities
1. Plant Identification: Ask the student to name the different plants in the game and describe their features.
2. Counting Zombies: Have the student count the number of zombies they defeat in each level.
3. Physical Activity: Create a mini obstacle course for the student to navigate while pretending to be a plant or a zombie.
Talking Points
- Plants are living things that need sunlight and water to grow. Say: "Plants are like our friends, they need sunlight and water to be happy."
- Zombies are make-believe characters that try to eat the plants. Say: "Zombies are silly characters who like to play pretend and make funny faces."
- Counting helps us keep track of things. Say: "Counting is like a game, we get to see how many things we have."
