Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will learn all about hot chocolate and how to make a delicious cup of it!

Materials and Prep

  • Hot chocolate mix
  • Milk
  • Mug
  • Spoon
  • Stovetop or microwave
  • Adult supervision for heating
  • Apron or old shirt to protect clothes

Make sure to have all the materials ready before starting the lesson. Ask an adult for help with heating the milk.

Activities

  • Learn about the history of hot chocolate and where it comes from.
  • We will read a short story or watch a video about the origins of hot chocolate.

  • Practice measuring and pouring the hot chocolate mix into the mug.
  • You will get to use a spoon to carefully measure and pour the hot chocolate mix into the mug.

  • Stir the hot chocolate mix into the warm milk.
  • You will get to stir the mix into the warm milk until it's all dissolved and mixed well.

  • Add any extra toppings like marshmallows or whipped cream.
  • After making the hot chocolate, you can add your favorite toppings to make it even more delicious!
