Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand coastal climates and create your own coastal-themed artwork.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, crayons or colored pencils, watercolor paints, paintbrush, water cup, paper towels.

Before the lesson, make sure to have a discussion about what a coastal climate is and show pictures of coastal landscapes.

Activities

  • Draw a Coastal Scene: Use crayons or colored pencils to draw a beach with the ocean, palm trees, and seagulls.
  • Paint a Sunset: Use watercolor paints to create a beautiful sunset over the ocean. Blend different colors to make the sky look magical.
  • Create a Seashell Collage: Collect some seashells if you have any, and glue them onto a piece of paper to make a pretty collage.
