Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to improve their coordination, balance, and agility through playing Tic Tac Toe with hula hoops.

Materials and Prep

  • 3 hula hoops
  • Open space for playing
  • Comfortable clothing and footwear

No prior knowledge or experience required.

Activities

  • Hula Hoop Tic Tac Toe: Set up a 3x3 grid on the ground using the hula hoops. Take turns with a partner to toss a bean bag or small object into a hoop to claim that space. The first to get three in a row wins!
  • Hula Hoop Hopscotch: Create a hopscotch pattern inside a hula hoop using chalk. Practice hopping in and out of the hoop following the pattern for a fun and challenging workout.
  • Hula Hoop Relay Race: Divide into teams and set up a relay race course where participants must run while keeping the hula hoop spinning around their waist. Pass the hoop to the next team member without dropping it to win!
