Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand different types of weather and how they affect our daily lives.

Materials and Prep

  • Colorful paper
  • Markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Weather chart template (drawn on paper)
  • Basic understanding of sunny, rainy, windy, and snowy weather

Activities

  • Weather Chart: Create a weather chart with different sections for sunny, rainy, windy, and snowy weather. Draw and color the weather for each day.
  • Weather Dance: Dance like the weather! Move fast for windy weather, jump in puddles for rainy weather, and make snow angels for snowy weather.
  • Weather Story: Draw a picture of your favorite weather and tell a story about what you like to do when that weather happens.

  • Sunny Weather: "When the sun is shining, it's a sunny day! We can go outside and play."
  • Rainy Weather: "When it rains, the plants get a drink! We need rain for flowers to bloom."
  • Windy Weather: "The wind blows leaves and makes kites fly! It can be fun to feel the wind on our faces."
  • Snowy Weather: "Snow is like cold, soft cotton falling from the sky! We can build snowmen and have snowball fights."
