Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of Isaiah 64:8 and how God is like a potter shaping clay.

Materials and Prep

  • Play-Doh or clay
  • Paper
  • Crayons or markers
  • Bible (Isaiah 64:8)

No prior knowledge required. Just be ready for some creative fun!

Activities

  • Create with Clay: Give the student some Play-Doh or clay and let them shape it with their hands. Talk about how God shapes us like a potter shapes clay.
  • Drawing Time: Have the student draw a picture of themselves and then a picture of God as a potter. Encourage them to be creative!
  • Bible Time: Read Isaiah 64:8 to the student and explain it in simple terms. Emphasize the idea of God as our loving creator.

Talking Points

  • God made you special! Just like how you can make shapes with clay, God made you just the way you are. He loves you very much.
  • When we make mistakes, God can help us become better, just like how a potter can reshape clay. God always wants what's best for us.
  • Remember, you are precious to God. He takes care of you and watches over you every day. You can talk to Him anytime you want.
