Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of Isaiah 64:8 and how God is like a potter shaping clay.
Materials and Prep
- Play-Doh or clay
- Paper
- Crayons or markers
- Bible (Isaiah 64:8)
No prior knowledge required. Just be ready for some creative fun!
Activities
- Create with Clay: Give the student some Play-Doh or clay and let them shape it with their hands. Talk about how God shapes us like a potter shapes clay.
- Drawing Time: Have the student draw a picture of themselves and then a picture of God as a potter. Encourage them to be creative!
- Bible Time: Read Isaiah 64:8 to the student and explain it in simple terms. Emphasize the idea of God as our loving creator.
Talking Points
- God made you special! Just like how you can make shapes with clay, God made you just the way you are. He loves you very much.
- When we make mistakes, God can help us become better, just like how a potter can reshape clay. God always wants what's best for us.
- Remember, you are precious to God. He takes care of you and watches over you every day. You can talk to Him anytime you want.
