Activities
- Story Starters: Write down three different story starters on separate pieces of paper. Choose one and continue the story.
- Character Creation: Draw a picture of a character you would like to have in your story. Write a short description of them.
- Setting Exploration: Close your eyes and imagine a magical place. Draw and describe this setting in detail.
Talking Points
- Imagination: "Imagine you can go anywhere and do anything in your story. What exciting adventure will your characters have?"
- Beginning, Middle, End: "Every story has a beginning, middle, and end. What will happen at each part of your story?"
- Character Feelings: "How do your characters feel in different parts of the story? Show their emotions through their actions."
- Details: "Use descriptive words to paint a picture in the reader's mind. What do you see, hear, smell, and feel in your story?"
- Dialogue: "Characters can talk to each other in a story. What will your characters say to each other?"
