Materials and Prep

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Introduce the Minecraft-themed storybook to the student.
- Read the story aloud to the student.
- Discuss the story with the student.
- Have the student draw a picture related to the story.
- Ask the student to write a short sentence about their drawing.
Show the student the cover of the book and ask them to make predictions about what the story might be about based on the cover.
Take turns reading the pages of the storybook with the student. Encourage them to follow along and point out any familiar Minecraft-related words or characters they come across.
Ask the student questions about the story to check their comprehension. For example, "What was the problem in the story?" or "How did the main character solve the problem?"
Ask the student to choose a favorite scene or character from the story and draw it on a piece of paper. Encourage them to add details and colors to their drawing.
Have the student write a sentence describing their drawing. You can provide a sentence starter, such as "In the story, I liked the part where..."
