Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have created a personalized daily routine that balances schoolwork, hobbies, chores, and relaxation. This routine will help the student manage their time effectively and feel more organized.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper or a notebook
  • Pencil or pen
  • A timer (can use a phone or any timer available)
  • Optional: Colored markers or stickers for decoration

Before starting the lesson, it’s helpful for the student to think about their current daily activities and any commitments they have, such as classes, chores, or hobbies.

Activities

  • Brainstorming Session: Begin by writing down all the activities that the student does in a typical week. This can include school subjects, hobbies, chores, and relaxation time. This will help visualize how time is currently spent.

  • Time Blocking: Using the list from the brainstorming session, the student will allocate specific time blocks for each activity. They can use a simple schedule format, dividing the day into morning, afternoon, and evening sections.

  • Prioritization: Discuss which activities are most important and need to be done first. The student can rank their activities and decide how much time to dedicate to each based on priority.

  • Reflection and Adjustment: After creating the routine, the student should reflect on how they feel about the balance of activities. Encourage them to adjust their schedule as needed to ensure it feels right for them.

  • Creative Touch: Encourage the student to decorate their routine with drawings, colors, or stickers to make it visually appealing and fun to look at.
