Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of what the paranormal is, explore fun stories about ghosts and monsters, and create their own spooky tale using their imagination!
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Colored pencils or crayons
- A comfortable place to sit and read
- A few fun ghost or monster stories (these can be made up or from memory)
Before the lesson, think of a few simple ghost or monster stories to share. Make sure the stories are fun and not too scary!
Activities
-
Story Time:
Start by reading or telling a fun ghost or monster story. Encourage the student to ask questions about the characters and what they think will happen next!
-
Drawing Monsters:
Have the student draw their favorite monster or ghost from the story. They can use their imagination to create a new one if they want!
-
Create a Spooky Story:
Help the student write their own short spooky story. They can use prompts like "Once upon a time, in a dark forest..." and let their imagination run wild!
-
Paranormal Detective:
Set up a little "investigation" where the student can pretend to be a detective looking for clues about ghosts or monsters in the house. They can write down what they find!
