Objective
By the end of this lesson, Maxwell will have created a fun "All About Me" booklet that showcases his interests, family, and favorite things. This will help him feel excited about starting his homeschool journey and encourage self-expression.
Materials and Prep
- Paper (for the booklet)
- Crayons or colored pencils
- Stickers (if available)
- Glue (if available)
- Scissors (if available)
Before starting the lesson, make sure to set up a comfortable workspace for Maxwell. Gather all the materials and encourage him to think about what he wants to include in his booklet.
Activities
- Create an "All About Me" Booklet: Maxwell will fold several sheets of paper in half to create a booklet. Each page will feature a different aspect of himself, such as his name, age, favorite color, and hobbies. He can draw pictures and decorate the pages with stickers.
- Family Tree Drawing: Maxwell can draw a simple family tree on one of the pages, including his family members' names and how they are related to him. This will help him think about the people he loves.
- Favorite Things Collage: On another page, Maxwell can create a collage of his favorite things by drawing or writing them down. He can include favorite foods, animals, and activities.
- All About My School Year: Encourage Maxwell to think about what he wants to learn this year. He can write or draw his goals and dreams for his homeschool adventure.
