Objective
By the end of this lesson, Gabriella will understand how science and the Bible can work together to explain the wonders of God's creation, including the earth, animals, and plants.
Materials and Prep
- A notebook and colored pencils or crayons for drawing
- Access to a Bible (or printed Bible verses)
- A comfortable space to sit and learn
- Some natural items from outside (like leaves, rocks, or flowers) to explore
Before the lesson, it would be helpful to read Genesis 1:1-25 to prepare for the discussion about creation.
Activities
-
Creation Drawing:
Gabriella will draw her favorite part of creation from the Bible, like animals or plants, while discussing what God made on each day of creation.
-
Nature Walk:
Take a short walk outside to observe nature. Gabriella can collect items like leaves or rocks and talk about how each part of nature shows God's creativity.
-
Science Experiment:
Conduct a simple experiment by planting seeds in a cup with soil. Gabriella can learn how God created plants and how they grow from tiny seeds.
Talking Points
- "Did you know that the Bible tells us about how God made the world? Let's read about it together!"
- "What is your favorite animal that God created? Why do you like it?"
- "Look at these leaves we found! How do you think they help the trees?"
- "When we plant seeds, we are helping to create new plants, just like God did!"
- "Every time we see something beautiful in nature, we can remember that God made it special!"
- "Science helps us understand how things work, and the Bible tells us who made them! Isn’t that cool?"
