Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, Rylee should have a basic understanding of how to navigate Minecraft and its building mechanics. It may be helpful to review some architectural styles or structures for inspiration.

Activities

• Design Your Dream House

  Rylee will sketch out a design for her dream house on paper or digitally. She can think about the rooms she wants, the materials she'll use, and any special features like a pool or garden. This will help her visualize her project before building it in Minecraft.

• Building Challenge

  Set a timer for 30 minutes and challenge Rylee to build a specific structure, like a castle or a treehouse, using only the materials found in Minecraft. This will encourage her to think quickly and creatively about her building choices.

• Virtual Tour

  After completing her builds, Rylee can take a virtual tour of her creations in Minecraft and explain her design choices. This will help her practice public speaking and articulate her thoughts about her work.
