Objective

By the end of this lesson, Mila will understand the importance of eye health, what happens during an eye doctor's visit, and how to take care of her eyes. She will also learn some fun facts about vision and eye care.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and colored pencils or markers
  • Access to a mirror
  • Printable eye chart (can be drawn on paper)
  • Knowledge about basic eye care and common eye tests

Activities

  • Design Your Own Eye Chart:

Mila will create her own eye chart using letters, shapes, or even drawings of her favorite animals. This will help her understand how eye tests work and how important it is to see clearly.

  • Mirror Eye Examination:

Using a mirror, Mila will practice looking at her own eyes and describing what she sees. This can include talking about the color of her eyes, how they move, and what she notices about her vision.

  • Eye Care Poster:

Mila will make a colorful poster that lists ways to take care of her eyes, such as eating healthy foods, wearing sunglasses, and taking breaks from screens. This will reinforce the importance of eye health.

  • Fun Eye Facts Quiz:

Mila will learn and then quiz herself on fun facts about eyes and vision. This could include questions like "How many colors can the human eye see?" or "What is the fastest muscle in the body?"
