Objective
By the end of this lesson, Lively will understand the basic concepts of plants and how they grow, while also learning how God created them to be a part of our world.
Materials and Prep
- Paper and crayons or markers
- Seeds (any type like beans or sunflower seeds)
- Small cups or pots
- Soil or dirt
- Water
Before the lesson, gather all materials and prepare a small area for planting seeds. Make sure to explain to Lively that we will be learning about God's creation through plants!
Activities
-
Planting Seeds: Lively will fill small cups with soil and plant seeds in them. This hands-on activity will help her understand how plants start from tiny seeds.
-
Drawing Plants: After planting, Lively can draw pictures of what she thinks the plants will look like when they grow. This encourages creativity and imagination.
-
Watering the Seeds: Lively will learn how important water is for plants. She will water her seeds and learn to take care of them as they grow.
-
Story Time: Read a short Bible story about creation, focusing on how God made plants. This connects the lesson to her interest in Jesus.
Talking Points
- "Did you know that God made all the plants? He loves them so much!"
- "When we plant seeds, we are helping them grow, just like how God helps us grow!"
- "What do you think will happen to the seeds we planted? They will turn into beautiful plants!"
- "Every time we water our seeds, we are giving them what they need to be strong and healthy!"
- "Just like God created plants, He created you! You are special and loved!"
