Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the characteristics of Trickster figures in African folklore, particularly focusing on Legba and Anansi. They will learn about the stories and morals associated with these characters and create their own Trickster story.
Materials and Prep

- Access to a comfortable reading space
- Knowledge of basic folklore concepts (trickster, moral lessons)
Activities

Story Time:
Read a short story about Anansi or Legba. Discuss the main events and the character's actions. Ask the student what they think makes Anansi or Legba a Trickster.

Character Drawing:
Have the student draw their favorite Trickster character. Encourage them to think about what makes that character unique and fun!

Create Your Own Trickster Story:
Guide the student to write their own short Trickster story. They can use elements from Anansi or Legba's stories or create something completely new. Encourage creativity!

Act out a scene from the story they read or their own story. They can pretend to be Anansi or Legba and use their imagination to bring the character to life!
