Materials and Prep
- Paper and colored pencils or crayons
- A comfortable space to sit and draw
- A quiet area for storytelling
- Knowledge of the story of Prophet Yusuf (can be summarized or told in simple terms)
Activities
-
Storytime and Discussion
Begin by telling Yahya the story of Prophet Yusuf. Discuss the main events, focusing on his dreams and how they influenced his life. Ask Yahya how he feels about Yusuf's experiences and what he thinks about dreams.
-
Dream Drawing
Yahya will draw a picture of one of Yusuf's dreams. Encourage him to use his imagination and create a colorful representation of what he thinks Yusuf saw in his dreams.
-
Emotion Charades
Yahya will act out different emotions that Yusuf might have felt throughout his story (like happiness, sadness, and fear). This will help him understand how emotions play a role in our lives and stories.
