Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the basic concept of "sin" as making choices that can hurt ourselves or others, and will learn about making good choices through fun activities and discussions.

Materials and Prep

  • No special materials are needed for this lesson.
  • Be prepared to explain the concept of choices and feelings in simple terms.
  • Think of examples of good and bad choices that a 3-year-old can relate to.

Activities

  • Choice Story Time: Create a short story about a character who has to make choices. Discuss with the student how the character's choices made them feel. Was it a happy choice or a sad choice?

  • Good vs. Bad Choices Game: Play a game where you act out different scenarios (like sharing toys or taking a toy away) and ask the student to decide if it's a good or bad choice.

  • Feelings Drawing: Have the student draw pictures of happy and sad faces based on different choices. Talk about what made them feel that way.

Talking Points

  • "Sometimes we make choices that make us feel happy, like sharing with a friend!"
  • "Other times, we might make choices that make us feel sad, like not listening to our parents."
  • "It's important to think about how our choices can make others feel too!"
