Objective

By the end of this lesson, Caroline will have a fun and engaging understanding of Poland, including its culture, geography, and some interesting facts. She will be able to share what she learned with friends and family!

Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, it would be helpful to have a brief overview of Poland’s location in Europe and some basic facts about its culture and history.

Activities

  • Map Exploration: Caroline will locate Poland on a world map or globe. She can color it in and label its neighboring countries.
  • Polish Flag Craft: Using paper and colored pencils, Caroline will create her own version of the Polish flag and decorate it with symbols that represent Poland.
  • Traditional Polish Recipe: Caroline can learn about a simple Polish dish, like pierogi, and draw or write about the ingredients and how it's made.
  • Polish Culture Presentation: Caroline can choose one aspect of Polish culture (like music, dance, or festivals) and prepare a short presentation or poster about it.
