Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to write a persuasive essay on the topic of Jesus Christ, demonstrating effective use of language arts skills.

Materials and Prep

  • Prior knowledge or research on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ

Activities

  1. Brainstorming: Have the student brainstorm ideas about Jesus Christ and his significance. Encourage them to think about personal experiences, biblical teachings, and historical context.

  2. Outline Creation: Guide the student in creating an outline for their persuasive essay. Help them organize their main points, supporting evidence, and counterarguments.

  3. Writing the Essay: Instruct the student to write a persuasive essay on the topic of Jesus Christ. Remind them to use proper grammar, sentence structure, and persuasive techniques such as ethos, pathos, and logos.

  4. Peer Review: Have the student exchange essays with a peer or family member for feedback. Encourage constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement.

  5. Final Revision: Based on the feedback received, guide the student in revising and editing their essay for clarity, coherence, and persuasive impact.
