Objective

By the end of this lesson, Tempest will be able to create simple sentences using 3-4 words to express her thoughts and ideas. This will help her communicate more effectively and build her language skills.

Materials and Prep

  • None needed for this lesson.

Before the lesson, it would be helpful to think of some fun topics or ideas that Tempest enjoys talking about, such as animals, colors, or her favorite toys. This will make the lesson more engaging!

Activities

  • Sentence Building with Fun Words:

Encourage Tempest to think of her favorite things. Ask her to say a few words about them, and help her to combine these words into a sentence. For example, if she loves cats, you might help her say, "I see a big cat."

  • Story Time:

Read a short story together. After reading, ask Tempest to describe her favorite part using a sentence. For instance, if the story had a dog, she could say, "The dog is very happy."

  • Picture Descriptions:

Look at pictures together (these could be from a book or drawn by you). Ask Tempest to describe what she sees in 3-4 words. For example, "The sun is shining bright!"

Talking Points

  • "Can you tell me about your favorite toy?"
  • "What do you see in this picture?"
  • "Let’s make a fun sentence together!"
  • "How does the cat feel in the story?"
  • "Can you say that with more words?"
