Objective

By the end of this lesson, Jensen will be able to understand the growth and life cycle of Pleated Inkcap mushrooms. Jensen will also be able to answer fill-in-the-blank questions about these mushrooms and create a drawing of one!

Materials and Prep

Activities

  1. Fill-in-the-Blank Questions: Prepare a simple sheet with fill-in-the-blank questions about Pleated Inkcap mushrooms. For example: "Pleated Inkcap mushrooms grow in _____ (woodlands, gardens, etc.)." This will help Jensen learn about their environment and growth.

  2. Drawing Activity: Ask Jensen to draw a picture of a Pleated Inkcap mushroom. Encourage him to use different colors and add details like the ground or other plants around it.

  3. Story Time: Read a short story or give a simple explanation about how mushrooms grow. Use fun voices and expressions to make it engaging for Jensen!
