Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will improve their hand-eye coordination and overall body movement through fun and engaging activities. They will learn to control their movements better while having a great time moving their bodies!
Materials and Prep
No special materials are needed for this lesson! Just a safe space to move around, like a living room or backyard. Make sure the area is clear of any obstacles to prevent accidents.
Activities
-
Ball Toss: The student can practice tossing a soft ball in the air and catching it. Start with gentle tosses and gradually increase the height. This will help improve their hand-eye coordination.
-
Animal Walks: Have the student mimic different animals while moving around. For example, they can hop like a frog, waddle like a duck, or crawl like a bear. This will engage their whole body and make them giggle!
-
Follow the Leader: Take turns being the leader and the follower. The leader can do different movements like jumping, spinning, or dancing, and the follower tries to copy them. This activity encourages creativity and coordination.
-
Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course using furniture or safe objects. The student can crawl under tables, jump over pillows, or zigzag around chairs. This will help them practice moving their bodies in different ways.
