Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will learn how to create your own video content! You will understand the basics of planning, filming, and editing a simple video, and you will have made a short video that you can share with your family and friends.

Materials and Prep

  • Smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera
  • A quiet place to film
  • Notepad and pencil for planning
  • Optional: Access to basic video editing software or apps (if available)

Before the lesson, think about what type of video you want to create. It can be a fun skit, a how-to video, or even a vlog about your day!

Activities

  • Brainstorming Ideas

Start by writing down different ideas for your video. Think about what you love to do or what you want to share with others. Choose your favorite idea to develop further!

  • Script Writing

Write a simple script or outline for your video. This will help you remember what to say and do when you start filming. Keep it short and fun!

  • Filming Your Video

Now it's time to film! Set up your camera in a good spot and follow your script. Don’t worry if you make mistakes; you can always do it again!

  • Editing (if possible)

If you have access to editing software, try to edit your video. You can add fun effects, music, or text. If not, just enjoy watching your raw footage!

  • Sharing Your Video

Show your video to family and friends! You can talk about what you enjoyed most about making it and what you learned.

Talking Points

  • "What do you think makes a video interesting? Is it the story, the visuals, or the sounds?"
  • "Why is planning important before we start filming? It helps us stay organized and know what to do!"
  • "How can we make our video fun to watch? Adding humor or surprises can keep people engaged!"
  • "What mistakes do you think are okay to make while filming? Every great video has some bloopers!"
  • "Why is it important to share our videos? It lets us connect with others and show our creativity!"
