Materials and Prep

• Soap (imagine using dog shampoo)
• Towels (for drying)

Before the lesson, ensure the student understands the basic needs of a dog, including hygiene and care. Discuss the importance of being gentle and kind to animals.

Activities

• Washing the Dog: The student will pretend to wash a dog using imaginary soap and water. They can practice the steps of wetting, soaping, rinsing, and drying the dog, discussing each step as they go.

• Art Activity: The student will draw a picture of a dog being washed. They can use crayons or markers to illustrate the scene, including bubbles and water splashes.

• Story Time: The student will write a short story about their experience washing a dog or create a fictional story about a dog’s adventure during bath time.

• Dog Care Discussion: Discuss with the student why it’s essential to keep pets clean and healthy. Talk about different dog breeds and their grooming needs.
