Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the concept of different cultures and regions through the lens of Pokémon, learning about how Pokémon are inspired by real-world animals and places.
Materials and Prep
- Paper and crayons or colored pencils
- A list of Pokémon and their regions (can be memorized or written down)
- Knowledge of basic geography (continents and countries)

-
Pokémon Region Map:
Draw a simple map of the Pokémon world, marking where different Pokémon come from. Discuss how each region is inspired by real places in the world.
-
Pokémon Animal Connection:
Choose a few Pokémon and find out what real animals they are based on. Draw the Pokémon next to their real-life counterpart and talk about where those animals live.
-
Pokémon Culture Creation:
Create a new Pokémon that represents your own culture or favorite things. Draw it and give it a name, then explain what makes it special and where it would live.

- "If you could create a Pokémon, what would it look like? What special powers would it have?"
- "Where do you think our favorite Pokémon would live? Would they live in a forest, a city, or maybe even on a mountain?"
- "Every Pokémon has a story, just like people! What story do you think your Pokémon would tell?"
- "Why do you think it’s fun to learn about different regions? It helps us understand our world better!"
