Objective

Materials and Prep

• Colored paper (orange, black, purple, green)
• Scissors
• Glue or tape
• Markers or crayons
• Optional: String or yarn for hanging crafts

Before starting the lesson, make sure to prepare a clean workspace. Review safety rules for using scissors and remind the student to ask for help if needed.

Activities

• Shape Hunt

  Go on a shape hunt around the house or outside to find Halloween shapes. Look for pumpkins (circles), ghosts (squares), and witches' hats (triangles). Discuss each shape you find!

• Crafting Halloween Shapes

  Using the colored paper, help the student cut out different shapes. Create a pumpkin from a circle, a ghost from an oval, and a witch's hat from a triangle. Glue them onto a larger piece of paper to create a Halloween scene!

• Shape Storytime

  Read a Halloween-themed story together and ask the student to point out the shapes they see in the illustrations. After reading, encourage them to draw their favorite character using the shapes they learned!
