Activities
-
Vocabulary Treasure Hunt: Create a list of vocabulary words and hide sticky notes around the house. L will find each word and write a sentence using it. This will help reinforce vocabulary in a fun and active way!
-
Grammar Detective: Provide L with a short story that has several grammatical errors. L will act like a detective and find the mistakes, correcting them as they go. This will sharpen their grammar skills while making them feel like a detective on a mission!
-
Creative Writing Adventure: Use story prompts to inspire L to write a short story. Encourage them to illustrate their story as well. This activity will enhance their creative writing skills and allow them to express their imagination.
-
Reading Relay: Set a timer for 10 minutes and have L read a book of their choice aloud. After reading, ask them to summarize what they read, focusing on the main idea and characters. This will improve their reading comprehension and summarization skills.
