Objective

Before the lesson, gather all materials and find a cozy spot to work. If using real leaves, take a short walk outside to collect them together!

Activities

• Leaf Rubbings:

  Place a leaf under a piece of paper and use crayons to rub over it. This will create a beautiful print of the leaf. Discuss the different shapes and colors of the leaves.

• Fall Color Hunt:

  Go outside and look for things that are the colors of fall, like red, orange, yellow, and brown. Collect small items or draw what you find.

• Counting Rocks:

  Gather small rocks and count them together. You can also sort them by size or color, which helps with math skills!

• Water Experiment:

  Use a bowl of water to see what happens when you drop different items in. Discuss which items sink or float, relating it to the changes in nature during fall.
