Objective
By the end of this lesson, J will be able to create and present a fun and engaging newscast, video blog, radio drama, or podcast. J will learn how to organize ideas, use their voice expressively, and share information in a clear way!
Materials and Prep
- Paper and crayons or markers for drawing and writing scripts
- A timer to keep track of presentation time
- A quiet space for recording or presenting
- Imagination and creativity!
Before the lesson, think about what topics J might want to talk about in their newscast or podcast. It could be about animals, their favorite toys, or a story they make up!
Activities
-
Brainstorming Session: Start by sitting down with J and asking them what they would like to share in their newscast or podcast. Write down their ideas on paper. Encourage them to think about fun stories or interesting facts they know!
-
Script Writing: Help J write a simple script based on their chosen topic. They can draw pictures or write words that match what they want to say. Make it colorful and fun!
-
Practice Time: Allow J to practice their presentation. They can use different voices, pretend to be a news anchor, or even act out parts of their radio drama. Encourage them to be loud and clear!
-
Recording or Presenting: If possible, record J’s presentation using a phone or tablet. If not, have them present it live to you! Celebrate their hard work with applause!
